Showing our Support at the Lincoln Half Marathon

The Your Print Partner team were out in force yesterday cheering on the runners at the Lincoln Half Marathon.

YPP was, for the second consecutive year, the Official Branding Partner to the event and proudly produced feather flags, correx signage and metres and metres of aero banner to cover the course in the event’s signature red.

We also set up our very own YPP Supporters Zone at Lincoln’s famous Brayford Waterfront area, which was approximately the halfway point in the race. On what was a grey day thanks to the weather, we certainly brought the colour as we turned the wall of crowd control barriers into a collection of eye-catching motivational messages.

We hope our messages raised a smile and helped everyone enjoy the final few miles to the finish line.

Our Graphic Designers, who came up with the concept for the Supporters Zone, were hard at work in the early hours setting up the area and handing out hundreds of balloons to spectators.


Fastest to finish was local athlete Matt Bowser, who crossed the finish line of the 13.1 mile course in 1hr10min, with Claire Cooney the first woman in 1hr32min.

Thousands of runners took part in the event and had a terrific time, raising money for a wide range of different causes.

The day was a huge success for organisers OSB Events, with whom YPP has enjoyed a successful working relationship with for a number of years on events such as the Cambridge Half Marathon and the Outlaw Triathlon.

Outlaws Take Over Nottingham

A new course record was set at the Outlaw Half Nottingham on Sunday 21st May when triathlete Mark Threlfall crossed the finish line in a time of 3hours 56:00.

Perhaps even more incredible though was the achievements of Gill Fullen, who despite having gone through chemotherapy and surgery only months ago, crossed the finish line in 4hours 42:01 to be named the fastest woman.

It was a glorious day in Nottingham for all the ‘Outlaws’ though, with near perfect racing conditions and great numbers of supporters lining the course.

The occasion was also a terrific demonstration of the huge variety of printed items we can provide to events here at Your Print Partner.

Rows of tall feather flags and metres of aero banner, produced by the YPP team, helped create a colourful finish line area. We designed and printed a number of foamex boards to decorate the finish gantry and timing clock, as well as the PVC finish tape handed to the winning triathletes.

We produced this giant cheque, adove, presented to winning triathlete Mark Threlfall at the post-race presentations in front of an Impact Pop-Up Fabric Display decorated in the famous Outlaw orange. Impact Pop-Ups are ideal for presentations as their strong and lightweight frame means they can be easily transported to almost any location, and the 210gsm display fabric provides a great non-reflective printed surface for logos and sponsors messages.

Brighton Marathon 2017

Your Print Partner was delighted to be able to work with the Brighton Marathon for another consecutive year, providing a whole host of printed items that contributed to what event organisers were hailing as their best event to date.

More than 12,000 runners took on the 26.2 mile challenge in the city’s eighth annual marathon, with an estimated 150,000 supporters lining the streets to cheer them on.

Just as all those runners were training for the marathon well in advance, we at YPP were busy drawing up designs and printing a huge range of items for the event back in January.

We produced rows of ‘Giant Flags’ to position along the famous beachfront in Brighton’s signature colours (above) and a number of printed tablecloths, flags and gazebos for supporting brands (below) to help promote their events and services.

We were also proud to provide the event with aero banner, or ‘scrim’, to decorate the course as well as printed kit bags and t-shirts for all the marathon finishers.

Thanks also to our recent investment and expansion into flatbed printing, we were able to provide the event with correx signage and branded barrier boards, all made in-house.

Our new stretch display systems were also used as colourful branded backdrops for the merchandise stalls (below) and official photography.

Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton set the runners off on Sunday morning. The elite runners all put in solid performances in the 20°C heat, with Stuart Hawkes making history by becoming the first British winner of the event with a finishing time of two hours 27 minutes and 36 seconds. He was followed by Ollie Garrod in second and Jon Pepper in third.

In the women’s race, Helen Davies crossed the finish line first with a time of two hours, 42 minutes and 40 seconds. She was followed by Hayley Munn in second place and Helen Buller in third, both finishing in under three hours.

Celebrating 5 Years as an Official Supplier to Cancer Research UK

Your Print Partner will again be responsible for providing the look and feel for Cancer Research UK’s fantastic array of Race for Life events this year.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is a series of women-only events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer.

The series has recently expanded to include 5k, 10k, Half Marathon and full Marathon distances. Another recent addition is Pretty Muddy, a fun obstacle course event challenging fundraisers to climb, crawl and charge their way to finish line.

At YPP, we are delighted to be able to provide Race for Life with feather flags, portrait flags, aero banners, barrier jackets and bunting.

We have also been able to supply the series with over 3,000 correx signs, produced using our new flatbed print machinery installed at the YPP Hub earlier this year.

In previous years YPP staff have teamed up with friends and family to take part in Race for Life in our home city of Lincoln. This year in Lincoln, Race for Life (5k and 10k events) will be at the Lincolnshire Showground on 7th May, and Pretty Muddy at the Showground on 6th May.

YPP on Target for Red Bull

At Your Print Partner we are very proud to have designed and supplied the printed pitch graphics for another consecutive year for Red Bull’s nationwide ‘Neymar Jrs Five’ football tournament.

In its first year, Neymar Jr’s Five had over 65,000 players take part from 47 countries… But now, in 2017, the tournament is bigger and better than ever. More than 50 countries, spread over 6 continents will host tournament qualifiers in a bid to have their National Finalists take home the trophy!

Here in the UK, the tournament kicked off at the weekend in London, and is set to visit another 13 locations across the country before our national champions are crowned and sent to the finals in Brazil.

Each nation brands its own tournament differently, along the theme of street football, and at YPP we were delighted to be asked to create the design concepts for the UK.

We designed and printed made-to-measure fabric graphics for the goals, foamex boards to brand the pitch sides, as well as flags, signage and posters to promote the event locations.

Decorating the Manchester Fanzone

The Rugby World Cup rolled into Manchester at the weekend, with an official Fanzone set up at Albert Square.

We were delighted to be asked by Manchester City Council to help with the decoration of the square, providing a number of large printed banners to brand the stage area.

Rugby supporters gathered from all over the country to enjoy live entertainment, rugby activities, food and drink, and watch 8 matches live on the big screen. Hosts England ended their campaign on a high note, beating Uruguay 60-3, Scotland won a thriller against Samoa 36-33, and Wales were beaten by Australia 6-15. Later on Sunday evening Ireland put in a terrific performance to beat France 24-9.

Serving good Morning Britain at Wimbledon

The sun has been shining all week at Wimbledon, providing the perfect backdrop for the team at ITV’s Good Morning Britain who have parked their sofa on the green grass at SW19.

People have been queuing in their hundreds and thousands to get inside the famous All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, as Andy Murray targets his second Wimbledon title.

In between presenting live reports, the GMB team have also been keeping the crowds entertained and handing out much needed bottles of juice (or “Deuce”), keeping everyone refreshed.

At Your Print Partner, we were delighted to be asked to print the Good Morning Britain bottle labels and t-shirts, all in the programme’s trademark yellow.

Celebrating the 800- Year Magna Carta Milestone

2015 is the 800th year since the sealing of Magna Carta in 1215 and there currently celebrations taking place across the world. Nowhere is embracing this historic occasion quite like our home city Lincoln though!

Only four original copies of Magna Carta remain from when it was sealed by King John in 1215. Copies of the charter were spread to religious houses in England – Hugh of Wells, the then Bishop of Lincoln, was present at the sealing and made sure a copy was brought back to Lincoln Cathedral.

Lincoln is also the only place in the world where you can find an original copy of Magna Carta together with the Charter of the Forest, issued in 1217 to amplify the document and one of only two surviving copies. The two charters are housed in Lincoln Castle, a seat for justice from its beginnings.

A new home and visitor centre for Lincoln’s Magna Carta has been built in Lincoln Castle for the anniversary, but that is just the beginning.

The Great Magna Carta Weekend included the Freedom Festival on the Brayford Waterfront, the Night of Festivals carnival in the city centre, Magna Party – featuring Diversity – at Lincoln Castle, fireworks on Saturday night, and the launch of the Lincoln Barons’ Charter Trail.

We’re very proud to be based in the city of Lincoln, and the YPP team really enjoyed taking part in the celebrations.

We were also commissioned to produce a number of printed items to help decorate the various outdoor spaces hosting different attractions. We produced flags that decorated the Brayford waterfront, which hosted the firework display, and our white and gold bunting lined the streets, including all along Lincoln’s famous Steep Hill.
