YPP’s Sponsored Knight Stars in Record Breaking Charity Auction

On an emotional and enjoyable night at Lincoln Cathedral, the YPP team watched on as our very own Robin Hood Knight was auctioned off at the Lincoln Knight’s Trail Charity Auction.

The Knights, specially decorated by an array of talented artists and positioned around the city of Lincoln all through the Summer, were sold at the event to raise money for The Nomad Trust and‚ an Art and Innovation fund for Lincoln.

By the end of the night, a whopping‚ ‚£180,000‚ had been raised for these two deserving causes!

Our Knight was created by Hampshire artist Deven Bhurke and was based on the legendary figure of Robin Hood. Following some seriously competitive bidding on Robin, the auctioneer finally‚ dropped his gavel on the winning bid of‚ £9,200 – the second highest bid of the night.

The highest selling sculpture was the Night of the Skies, a beautifully painted tribute to the WW2 bomber crews of Lincolnshire by artist Rosie Ablewhite, which sold for ‚£15,000.

Rachael Baxter, from The Nomad Trust said: …The Lincoln Knights Trail has been absolutely fantastic.

…We are honoured to be the nominated charity for the event and we want to say a huge thank you to the organisers, artists and sponsors who have made this event, and the whole Trail, so successful.‚

Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Matt Corrigan revealed that the Trail had drawn over 70,000 visitors to the city, who had walked 150,000 miles in order to see and photograph every Knight sculpture. If that had been done relay-style they would have gone around the world six times!

“It was a‚ privilege to be able to support the Knight’s Trail” said YPP Managing Director Stuart Maclaren. “The Nomad Trust is doing very important work in Lincoln, so to see so much raised for this cause is fantastic. The YPP team really got behind our Knight, and we’re pleased to see him go to a good home”.

In July 2016 businesses in Lincolnshire were offered the opportunity to get involved with an intriguing new public art project; the Lincoln Knight’s Trail. The project would celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Battle of Lincoln‚ and the sealing of the Charter of the Forest.‚ Two-thirds of the money raised would go to The Nomad Trust, with the remaining third used to create a ring-fenced Art and Innovation Fund to help the city to deliver future public art and events aimed at attracting more visitors to Lincoln.

At Your Print Partner, we were excited to hear about the Trail and the causes it would support, so seized the chance to become a sponsor.

The Knight sculptures were based  on two key figures from the Battle of Lincoln, Nichola de la Haye (Custodian of Lincoln Castle) and William Marshal (Regent to the young King Henry III) – and were designed to decorated in any fashion.

Having selected our chosen artist, Deven Bhurke, we were able to unveil our Knight alongside the other designs at a media launch event in March.

He is, of course, everyone’s favourite heroic outlaw, who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor… Introducing Robin Hood, aka ‘Lincoln Green’!

Our knight took his place as the fifth knight in the trail at the centre of St Paul Lane in the Bailgate area of Lincoln. Before he went out on display though, he came to visit the team at YPP HQ, and was taken out to visit Rand Farm Park to join in with the children learning archery and visited the students and staff at The Holt Primary School.

On Saturday 20th May the Lincoln Knight’s Trail begun. Thirty-six uniquely decorated Knights took up position all across the city, and Trail visitors could soon be spotted taking to the streets of Lincoln with their official maps in hand. We were very proud to have been able to supply these printed maps, of which over 10,000 were handed over in just the opening weekend!

A busy programme of summer events soon created a real buzz around the city, with people coming from far and wide to join in with the celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the Battle of Lincoln.

In August, Robin Hood travelled in time to celebrate 1940 day, surrounded by an array of family-friendly activities and music, our Knight found himself in amongst a jubilant host of 1940 dancers. Also as the annual Steampunk Festival descended on Lincoln Cathedral Quarter over the bank holiday weekend, Robin was visited by our very own seamstress-turned-steampunk Lynda.

Robin Hood, aka. Lincoln Green, became a firm favourite not only here at Your Print Partner but by flocks of visiting children and adults alike. Not only starring in countless photos and selfies, Robin was featured in several blogs about the trail which you can find on his Twitter profile @TheRobinKnight.

The Knight’s Trail was undoubtedly a success in both raising the profile of the celebrations of the 800th anniversary of the Battle of Lincoln and in rasing vital funds for two important local causes.

The YPP team would like to wish Robin all the best on his future adventures!

Our Knight is on Tour!

England’s most famous outlaw is on tour!

Your Print Partner is very proud to be a sponsor of the upcoming Lincoln Knights’ Trail, and delighted to say that we have our very own Knight… the one and only Robin Hood.

Our Knight, created by talented artist Deven Bhurke, was unveiled along with the other 35 designs at a dazzling media reception at The Showroom in Lincoln two weeks ago.

He is now standing proudly in the reception at YPP HQ, ready to go out with our team and visit a number of locations and tourist attractions across Lincolnshire before taking residence in his position in the Bailgate area of Lincoln for opening of the trail in May.

Yesterday he visited the very first destination in his tour, Rand Farm Park. The park offers a fantastic family day out, offering children the opportunity to discover about farming, with fun outdoor attractions, indoor play and animal hands-on experiences.

Of course Robin headed straight for the Archery experience at the park, showing off his skills with the bow and arrow!

“We’ve had a fantastic response from people already about the design of our Knight, in particular from children who really love Robin Hood” said Managing Director Stuart Maclaren. “I’d like to thank Rand Farm Park for their wonderful hospitality and help yesterday, and look forward to introducing more people to Robin and the rest of the Knights’ Trail over the coming weeks”.

You can follow Robin on his tour with pictures and updates on his official Twitter page @TheRobinKnight or on our Your Print Partner Instagram page.

If you are interested in having Robin visit your school, workplace or organisation before the start of the Knights’ Trail, please feel free to contact Chris at or call 01522 878787.

Behind the Scenes of our New HQ

We’ve now officially moved into our new HQ in Lincoln, having just this week installed four new state-of-the-art large format printers to join the nine we already had in operation.

This was an exciting moment for all of us at YPP, so we invited a camera crew to join us for a day to watch the arrival of the new machines and film the team in action.

You can view the video on Youtube here, and don’t forget to subscribe to our channel as we will be adding more videos soon, featuring some of our new products as well as some helpful branding tips and information.

Christmas Opening Hours & New HQ Update

Your Print Partner will soon be closing for Christmas, and when we re-open in the New Year we will have moved into our brand new HQ in Lincoln.

The company will close on Thursday 22nd December 2016 at 5.00pm and re-open for business on Monday 9th January 2017 at 9.00am.

Work has been underway for months redeveloping the site of our new building, which will house new sales and accounting offices, a new design studio and photography suite, meeting rooms, two product showrooms, staff recreational facilities and over three times as much production and warehouse space as the current company HQ.

Our new address in January will be: Your Print Partner, Pyke Road, Lincoln, LN6 3QS.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers, suppliers, family and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new home!

It’s our 5th Birthday!

Today marks exactly five years since Your Print Partner was founded.

YPP was established in 2011 by Stuart Maclaren. Having noticed that the ‘major players’ in the large-format print industry were outsourcing jobs to suppliers in Eastern Europe and China, he made it his mission to bring print and manufacture back to the UK.

The company began as a ‘trade-only’ supplier, with Stuart acting as a broker to source UK-printed products for his clients. When demand took off, he took a risk and invested in a large-format digital printer and new premises so that the company could begin printing in-house.

Sales quickly increased and Stuart was soon able to invest in new staff, new machinery and new product development to grow his business.

Fast forward five years, and the company now operates with nine large-format print machines and has outgrown it’s current 8,000 sq ft HQ. Later this month YPP will be moving to a new 21,000 sq ft building in Lincoln.

We’d like to thank all our customers, suppliers, friends and family who’ve been with us on this journey so far. Here’s to the next five years and beyond!

A New Home for Your Print Partner

Your Print Partner has strengthened its reputation as the UK’s fastest growing large-format print company by announcing today it’s purchase of new larger headquarters in Lincoln.

The new 21,000 sq ft premises, set on a 1.05 acre site on Pyke Road, will house new sales and accounting offices, a new design studio and photography suite, meeting rooms, two product showrooms, staff recreational facilities and over three times as much production and warehouse space as the current company HQ.

“Our core business for printed outdoor marketing products and point-of-sale material is expanding rapidly and we wanted to ensure we could meet this exciting challenge quickly” said Managing Director Stuart Maclaren (seen above accepting the keys from Tim Gutteridge of Lambert Smith Hampton).

Further Investment

With the purchase of the new building comes additional investment in machinery. The company plans to invest a further £400,000 this Winter on the installation of new generation LED-UV print machines.

Included in the list of new machines is an LED-UV flatbed inkjet printer, for direct printing on to thick substrates. This new machine will enable the company to add custom printed signage and rigid retail displays to its product range.

“We recorded our strongest sales figures ever last year, whilst also increasing profitability” said Mclaren. “This year sales are up by 43% and we want to carry that momentum forwards into our new home”.

New Brands

The new building will also house a dedicated production suite for the company’s new Christmas brand, ‘The Santa Sacks Co.’ and extra facilities for a new personalised gifts brand set to be launched early next year.

Five new permanent jobs are also set to be created, to join the 22 members of staff already at the firm, once it becomes fully operational at the new site in 4-5 weeks time.

“We’ve always set ourselves ambitious targets for growth, since the company was established in 2011” said Maclaren. “It’s testament to the hard work and skill of our team that we have been able to hit those targets, and I can’t wait to open this fantastic new HQ.”

Building improvements and re-development of the warehouse and production space will be taking place at the site over the coming weeks. We will be providing further information and confirmation of our ‘moving day’ soon.

Thousands Flock to the All-New Lincoln Half Marathon

What a day! The Lincoln Half Marathon took place on Sunday, with thousands taking to the streets to take on the 13.1 mile challenge and raise money for charity.

Matthew Bowser crossed the finish line first with a time of 1 hr 8 mins, with Abbie Donnelly the fastest female, finishing with a time of 1 hr 24 mins.

YPP was the Official Branding Partner to the Lincoln Half Marathon, so we decided to set up our very own Supporters Zone to cheer all the runners on.

Our team joined the army of volunteers and event staff in the early hours of the morning to decorate our area of the course, positioned along the Brayford Waterfront, with feather flags, printed balloons and 200m of digitally printed aero banner.

“I’d like to congratulate all the finishers and thank all those who turned up to show their support on what was a beautiful day in Lincoln” said YPP Managing Director Stuart Maclaren, who was on-site supervising a section of course that ran through the city.

“I’d also like to share our thanks to all the volunteers and the team at OSB Events for organising a terrific event. Bring on next year’s!”.

We printed cheering cards to distribute to supporters on the day, with a humourous message on one side and space for a hand-written message on the reverse for all those with friends and family taking part.

“We knew we would be based at around the halfway mark, which can be a bit of a killer moment in a race, so we decided to go out there with positive messages for all those running” said Design Manager Chris Cheeseman. “Hopefully we managed to make a few of you smile!”.

Full race results can be found online here.

The official charity partners of the Lincoln Half Marathon were Cancer Research UK and local charity the Ethan Maull ‘Up yours to Cancer ‘ Foundation, which is raising money for Ethan’s House, a home for families to stay in while loved ones are receiving treatment.

Get Ready for the Lincoln Half!

It’s just two days now until 4,000 runners take to the streets of Lincoln for the very first Lincoln Half Marathon.

The 13.1 mile route, which begins at the Lincolnshire Showground, will take runners into uphill Lincoln, passing the famous Cathedral, through the grounds of the Castle, before heading along the beautiful Brayford waterfront and then back to the Showground.

Your Print Partner is the Official Branding Partner to the Lincoln Half Marathon.

We’ve been busy in the last few weeks producing all the street branding and feather flags to decorate the course. We will also have our very own suppport team on the course, positioned along the Brayford waterfront, cheering the runners on.

We will be handing out free cheering cards to supporters, so if you’d like to write a message for any of your friends or relatives taking part then please feel free to collect one from a member of our team.

It is hoped that hundreds of thousands of pounds will be raised from the event for the Ethan Maull Up Yours to Cancer Foundation, to offer a home in Lincoln where families with children fighting cancer can stay while youngsters receive treatment.

This new event will take centre stage during Lincolnshire Weekend, and is expected to give the city’s economy a £2 million boost.

All the essential event details can be found here.

YPP Joins the Knights Trail!

We are very proud to be able to annouce that Your Print Partner is an official sponsor of the Lincoln Knights’ Trail.

This ambitious public art event will be taking over the city of Lincoln from 20th May to 4th September 2017, looking to build on the historic Magna Carta celebrations that took place last year.

35 sculptures, inspired by key figures from the Battle of Lincoln – Nichola de la Haye (Custodian of Lincoln Castle) and William Marshall (Regent to the young King Henry III) – will be decorated by local artists and positioned at key sites across the city.

The event is being organised by the Lincoln Business Improvement Group, who are now starting the search for artists. Any artists, amateur or professional, interested in contributing to the Knights Trail can find out more on the Lincoln BIG website here.

“We are absolutely delighted to be able to support the Lincoln Knights Trail” said YPP Managing Director Stuart Maclaren. “The event celebrates the history of Lincoln, along with the creativity of its people, and we can’t wait to see the designs submitted by the artists.”

The Knights’ Trail will form part of the 800th anniversary commemorations of The Battle of Lincoln Fair in 1217 and the sealing of the Charter of the Forest. It will be unique to Lincoln, and help raise money for a terrific cause.

“On September 30, 2017, the sculptures will be auctioned at Lincoln Cathedral. Two-thirds of the money raised will go to our new charity partner, The Nomad Trust” said Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Matt Corrigan.

“The remaining third will be used to create a ring-fenced Art and Innovation Fund to help the city to deliver future public art and events aimed at attracting more visitors to Lincoln.”

Outlaws Takeover Holkham Hall

The historic Holkham Hall estate in Norfolk provided the backdrop for a new triathlon event yesterday; the Outlaw Half Holkham.

Amongst the magnificent eighteenth century surroundings, triathletes completed a 1.2 mile swim, followed by a 56 mile bike ride passing the Queen’s residence in Sandringham, and then a 13.1 mile run finishing in front of the house.

Your Print Partner designed and produced a wide range of printed branding materials, used to transform the grounds of this Palladian Mansion into a top class sporting venue.

Aero banners, printed in the trademark ‘Outlaw Orange’, lined the course and the finish zone. Our aero banner material is ideal for decorating metal barriers at outdoor events as it is lightweight, easy to attach using cable ties, and allows the wind to pass through. We can print rolls up to 100m long in one piece at our manufcaturing hub in Lincoln.

We also provided a number of feather flags for the event and its sponsors, and produced printed boards to cover the finish line gantry.

The fastest man around the course was Reece Barclay, who crossed the finish line with a time of 4:17:18. Catherine Faux was the fastest woman, recording a time of 4:32:14.

Afterwards all the various ‘Holkham Heroes’ posed with their trophies in front of an Impact Pop-Up Display.

We would like to congratulate the event organisers and everyone who took part on what was a fantastic day. The next Outlaw event is the full Outlaw Triathlon, taking place on Sunday 24th July 2016 at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham.
