On Tour with the Promotional Merchandise Spring Shows

The Your Print Partner team will be touring the country over the next couple of months with the Promotional Merchandise Spring Shows, organised by Customer Focus.

The Spring Shows are traditional ‘table top’ events, offering a more intimate setting for suppliers and trade clients to meet, and benefit from a stronger working relationship.

The tour will offer busy distributors who find it difficult to leave the office the opportunity to visit their local show and meet face-to-face with suppliers. Our sales team will be present at each of the venues shown below, with new samples, trade brochures and information on our latest sales promotions.

Our tour will take us from the North to the South, kicking off in Glasgow on 22nd April, before we visit Manchester, Slough, Harlow and Walsall.

Friendly and informal, the Spring Show atmosphere is considerably relaxed in comparison to the national shows, and we are hoping to be able to spend some quality time with distributors and learn more about their businesses.

Our theme for the shows is ‘Bringing Colour to Your Brand’ – and we’re sure you will be able to spot our stand in the exhibition halls!

Today marks exactly 2 years since Your Print Partner relocated to Millennium House.

When the business was first set up just over 3 years ago, it was occupying rented units at a North Hykeham business park.

As the business became more successful, Managing Director and founder Stuart Maclaren employed more staff and purchased additional print machinery to increase capacity. By 2013, growth was showing no signs of slowing, so the company made its largest investment to date and purchased a new home; Millennium House in Lincoln. Our official ‘Moving Day’ was the 20th April 2013.

Separate departments for print, sewing, assembly and dispatch were created on the ground floor along with a much increased warehouse area. Upstairs, new offices were built to house the company’s growing sales and customer service teams, along with separate areas for the Accounts and Design staff.

“It’s hard to believe that it was two years ago when we moved here to Millennium House” said Stuart. “The move was essential at that time if we were to continue the excellent growth we were achieving, and has enabled us to add to our in-house print capabilities with new machinery, such as the new 3.2m superwide direct-to-textile printer.

“We’re very fond of our home here, but we also have ambitious plans for the future – so who knows where we will be in another two years!”.

YPP on Display at the 2015 Brighton Marathon Exhbition

Thousands flocked to the south coast at the weekend for the fifth annual Brighton Marathon.

Organisers confirmed shortly after the event that 9,426 people had taken part in the race, which finishes beside Brighton’s iconic pier.

In front of crowds believed to be up to 150,000 strong, Kenyan Duncan Maiyo won the men’s race, setting a new personal best time of 2:10:15, while compatriot Pennina Wanjiru won the women’s race in 2:34:25.

As part of the Marathon weekend, all those running are invited to the Brighton Marathon Exhibition, which takes place over two days at The Brighton Centre. The Exhibition is described as a slice of ‘runner heaven’ and we were commissioned by the organisers to produce a range of printed materials for the event – from the very large to the very small!

Take a look below at some of the various different items we produced for this amazing event.

Digitally printed foamex panels are ideal for shell schemes and were used as an eye-catching backdrop to this stand.

We produced printed boards to decorate this big screen and these hanging banners, used to identify the different zones of the Exhibition.

These maps were produced for the runners to plan where the all-important water stations were along the marathon course.

Event sponsor and official merchandise supplier Saucony required a huge eye-catching printed backdrop promoting their ‘Want to Run’ campaign.

Exciting New Sports Brand Makes an Impact with YPP

This week, Your Print Partner’s display products were spotted at the launch of an exciting new sports brand.

We were asked to produce an eye-catching backdrop, to be situated at the finish area of the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon, to support the promotional campaign launching Lornah Sports in the UK.

Lornah is a new range of high performance sportswear from Lornah Kiplagat, the African born multiple World Champion in distance running. The clothing is styled in fine fabrics and unique feminine African designs.

We produced an Impact stand for the event, utilising our superwide 3.2m print technology, to act as a backdrop for runners to pose in front of for photographs with some very lovable and mild-mannered ‘lions’!

Take a selfie in style at Race For Life

At Your Print Partner, we’re always looking to go the extra mile for our clients, and that sometimes leads to a few unusual requests for our production team!

This year we are delighted to once more be working as an Official Supplier to Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life series.

We are producing a wide range of large-format printed items for all the various different Race for Life events taking place up and down the country, including flags and banners. This year however, we have also designed and produced ‘Selfie Frames’ for the first time for the charity!

It’s a sign of the times now that even sports events need to be equipped for selfies. In recent research published by Techinfographics.com, it was revealed that approximately 1 million selfies are taken each day, making up 30% of all the photos taken by 18-24 year olds. The most retweeted post of all time is that famous Oscar’s selfie posted by Ellen DeGeneres in March last year.

So this year at Race for Life you will be able to add a touch of class to those selfies with these bespoke printed ‘Selfie Frames’.

Outdoor print you can count on

We are really proud to be able to say to our clients that we print and manufacture many of our products in-house.

Our print, production and sewing teams are a talented bunch, and it is because of them that we have complete confidence in our products that once they leave our doors, they will stand strong outside in whatever the British weather throws at them!

Our custom flags are a great example of how our print can withstand the elements. This flag, pictured below from yesterday afternoon, is currently flying high above our offices in Lincoln. It was raised up onto our flag pole approximately 6 months ago, and is still looking as bright and colourful today as it was then.

This flag was finished with special ‘anti-fray’ material along the outside edge to help make it even more weather resistant.

Our feather flags have also attracted praise for their durability throughout the winter months, as this comment on Twitter below shows.

Of course we always recommend that you take down your feather flags during high winds, but we were glad to hear that the strong aluminium frames and elasticated fabric sleeves that characterise our flags were so dependable for our client during the winter.

We’ve punched in JAN 21 2015, have plenty of extra plutonium and are fast approaching 88mph… It’s ‘time’ to unveil our theme for Trade Only 2015!

At Your Print Partner, we print and deliver so fast, you’d have to be Marty Mcfly to beat our turnaround times. This is why our stand this year is “Back to the Future” themed! We have a full-size working Delorean time machine replica on the stand, and will be using the hashtag #NEVEROUTATIME to capture our Trade Only experience on Twitter.

YPP At Trade Only 2015

Your Print Partner will be exhibiting at the Trade Only National Show for the second year running! This year, we have a “top secret” theme to be unveiled tomorrow evening before the show. Unless that is, you’ve already guessed what it is…

If you are one of our trade clients, the show is an excellent opportunity to meet with the YPP team and talk through your individual requirements. We are also premiering one or two new products and showcasing the release of our new 2015 Trade Brochure!

New Appointment

We are delighted to be able to welcome a new member of the team this week to Your Print Partner; Business Development Executive Ian luff.

Friendly, professional and with a great business pedigree, Ian joins us at an exciting time for the company. Having just celebrated our third birthday, YPP is on course to record its highest annual sales figures, and plans are in place for a number of new projects that will take the company into new markets in 2015.

Ian’s role will see him looking to develop sales and generate new business leads, with a particular focus on the automotive industry.

“We’re delighted to have Ian on board” said YPP Managing Director Stuart Maclaren. “He brings new skills and experience to our team, and our clients are going to really enjoy working with him”.

Plans are in place for further recruitment during the winter, with the company also launching a new Apprenticheship programme in the new year, in association with Lincoln College.

Celebrating Christmas Jumper Day

Today is ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ all across the UK, and to celebrate we have made the biggest jumper in town!

At 12ft wide, this super-sized sweater would even be a little ‘roomy’ for Santa Claus himself.

The company recently invested in new ‘superwide’ direct-to-textile print technology, which will digitally print 3.2m wide rolls of fabric, and we were able to utilise this to produce an enormous Christmas jumper – all as one piece.

Christmas Jumper Day is an annual event in aid of Save the Children. Now in its third year, the charity is asking even more people across the UK to join the woolly revolution to help ‘make the world better with a sweater’. The event has raised £1.6 million to date, and organisers are expecting this year’s to be the biggest yet – with almost 4 million officially Brits signed up to take part in the festive fun.

All of the staff at YPP have made a donation to Save the Children to pop on a pullover today, with an award set to go to the very best novelty knitwear.

“We’re hoping that our giant jumper will help raise awareness of Christmas Jumper Day, which is raising money to go towards helping the most vulnerable children in the world” said YPP Managing Director Stuart Maclaren.

“All the team here are looking very festive today, and hopefully our donations along with those from the thousands of schools and organisations up and down the country also taking part can really help make a difference.”

If you want to join in, Save the Children is suggesting that adults make a donation of £2 and school children £1, and the UK government will double your money – matching every pound you give up to £5 million. Printed Foamex Helping Drive Up Sales of New Mercedes

This month Your Print Partner was commissioned by Showcase Interiors to produce some eye-catching interior prints for the Mercedes AMG Head Office in Milton Keynes.

Stunning images of the latest models in the Mercedes range were printed using UV inks onto 5mm thick Foamex – one of our most popular materials for exhibition displays and signage.

The Foamex boards transformed the office space, adding some bold colours and a high quality corporate feel to the modern and minimal style rooms.

This project was also another example of the YPP team really going the extra mile for our client, with the boards being printed overnight and delivered direct to the site so that they were installed in time.

Exhibiting at the BGU Employer on Campus Event

Your Print Partner was today exhibiting at the BG Futures ‘Employers on Campus’ event at Bishop Grosseteste University.

The event was an opportunity for Year 9 students of local Lincolnshire schools to come and speak to employers about jobs in their industries and any future work or volunteering opportunities that are available in their organisations.

They were representatives from over 30 other organisations exhibiting alongside YPP, including The NHS, Lincolnshire Police, The National Trust and Lincoln City FC.

“We were very happy to be invited to the Employers on Campus event, representing the print industry” said Managing Director Stuart Maclaren. “I hope my team were able to help the youngsters visiting today with some of their questions about print and design, and perhaps a few of them could be creating the next generation of printed promotional products.”
